How to Make Vegan Chocolate Cake for Your Birthday: I think it’s time to give this vegan chocolate dessert a makeover.
This is a chocolate cake with a buttery, gooey texture and it’s perfect for the birthday party or for a party of four.
If you want to keep it vegan, I recommend using only 1/2 cup of coconut oil (or coconut butter).
The coconut oil will melt in your mouth, and it also gives the cake a nice nutty flavor.
The icing is optional but makes a lovely and unique touch.
I love using chocolate sprinkles for this cake.
For those of you who like chocolate sprinklers, this cake is perfect for them.
For me, it tastes best if the cake is topped with a small dollop of vanilla frosting.
The frosting helps to make this cake creamy.
It also makes the cake taste a little less like cake and more like chocolate pudding.
The only downside to this cake (and other vegan chocolate cakes) is that it is not gluten-free.
It will make you feel a little uncomfortable, but you can always add a few drops of vegan gelatin powder to the batter.
You can also add a small splash of almond milk to the frosting to help it melt into the cake.
Recipe: vegan chocolate cheddar cake (vegan cake) 1 cup of sugar 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon almond extract 1/4 teaspoon coconut sugar 1 teaspoon coconut oil Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the coconut oil, vanilla, almond and coconut sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the coconut milk and vanilla and whisk to combine.
Add in the coconut flour, baking powder and salt and mix well.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for about 30 minutes, until the top of the cake comes out golden brown.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool.
For the icing, mix the almond milk with the coconut butter in a small bowl until it becomes a glossy gel.
Place the coconut icing over the cake and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
Bake until the cake starts to set.
Recipe Notes: If you like a more traditional cake, you can use coconut flour instead of coconut sugar, but that will be much easier to work with if you use the coconut fat as well.
