By the end of 2020, there will be six new Frozen films in the works, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The movies will feature Anna and Elsa, who are now in their fourth and fifth seasons.
“I think it’s a good idea,” Iger said.
“You see a lot of people saying, ‘I’m going to wait until Frozen 4’ and I don’t think you should.”
He added that Disney doesn’t want to “go down that path.”
And Iger added that the company will not “rehash” Frozen as a franchise.
“That would be unfair to the characters and would be a disappointment to the fans,” he said.
The Frozen spinoff will likely take place before or during Disney’s upcoming Oscar-winning animated feature film, The Jungle Book, which is slated for release in late 2019.
In March, Disney announced a five-film plan that includes a movie starring Bill Murray and a TV series about a fictional princess named Elsa.
Iger is also looking to expand the Disney Parks brand and is reportedly looking to develop a live-action series based on Frozen.
And Disney is reportedly working on a live action Frozen sequel.
It’s unclear when the next film will be released.
And as part of its celebration of its 40th anniversary, Disney released a new series of posters and merchandise.
The company has also announced it will be releasing a new line of animated short films and Disney Parks-themed merchandise.
It will be the company’s most successful year ever with over $2 billion in revenue.
