This cake recipe is from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
You can make this cake for any birthday party, just keep the recipe simple.
1 cup of all-purpose flour 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/8 tsp salt 2 eggs, separated 2 cups of butter, softened 1/3 cup sour cream, packed 1/6 cup powdered sugar 3/4 cup sugar 2 cups milk 1 cup butter 1/10 cup flour 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup milk Chocolate chips 1 Cup chocolate cake (preferably white) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13-inch cake pan and line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
In another bowl, combine the eggs and sour cream and beat until fluffy.
Add the sugar and milk and mix until smooth.
Add butter and mix to combine.
Divide batter among prepared pans and bake for about 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
For the cake layer, cut an 8×10-inch square cake into 16 wedges.
Combine the flour and cocoa powder in a medium bowl.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter until smooth and fluffy.
Beat in the sour cream until well blended.
Add in the powdered sugar and mix with the stand mixer until well combined.
Add half the milk and beat just until incorporated.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Place the cake layers on the prepared pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center came out clean and the cake was golden brown.
Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before slicing.
