And it’s a really easy recipe!
You’ll want to make this cake with a batch of coconut cake mix for a quick, easy and tasty way to make your first cake.
1 cup coconut cake flour 1/2 cup coconut flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/3 cup water 3 eggs, separated 3 tablespoons melted butter 3 tablespoons cocoa powder 3/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 tablespoon milk chocolate 1 cup heavy whipping cream2 tablespoons melted coconut oil (for decorating) Directions1.
Preheat oven to 350 degreesF (177 degreesC).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the coconut cake batter into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.2.
Add the baking powder, salt, and cinnamon to the bowl and mix on medium speed for a few minutes.
Add water and mix until combined.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on low until combined, then add the remaining water and blend on low for 2-3 minutes.
Add melted butter, cocoa powder, and sugar, and mix for 1-2 minutes until combined and smooth.
Pour the batter into prepared baking sheet, and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
If you want a cake that has a creamier texture, add a little milk chocolate.5.
Remove from oven and let cool completely.
The cake will be quite soft when cut into slices.6.
Melt chocolate chips, coconut oil, and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir until melted and set aside.7.
In a large bowl, combine the eggs, melted butter and cocoa.
Add to the egg mixture and stir until combined (about 30 seconds).
Add the milk chocolate and mix with a fork until smooth.8.
In the bowl with the batter, whisk together the coconut oil and coconut flour until smooth and creamy.
Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or for an additional 15 minutes.
